In 2006, the designer Renate Hartung first developed furniture for a residential project, collaborating with the office of buerobellgardt. The vision – to install furniture in such a way that it becomes a space and light forming element – made a great deal of demands on their creative abilities. At this time, LED possibilities differed enormously from what they are today. Through the use of intelligent light concepts and novel installations, -the requirements could be exceeded. In the years that followed, new creations were worked on that are now being launched as part of a new furniture series. At the same time, Renate Hartung and Robert Bellgardt have founded the design and furniture manufacturer roccoel.
